Designing Success, Overcoming Growth Barriers
RSVMe app leverages a unique matchmaking algorithm to connect users focused on beauty care, massage therapy, and health management with nearby businesses, offering budget-friendly and speedy services. Cloud Interactive provided a comprehensive UX/UI redesign to help RSVMe better serve its niche, streamlining the app experience and overcoming barriers to market expansion.
Customer Profile
Founded in 2011, RSVMe is a beauty and skincare matching platform based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Leveraging its unique matching mechanism, sales platform, and substantial customer database, RSVMe seizes opportunities in the beauty and skincare market. The platform emphasizes that the fewer requirements users have when booking, the cheaper price they are offered for the service.
Challenges
RSVMe possesses advantageous features such as a unique matching algorithm, mobile sales platform, and extensive customer database. These enable immediate provider-user matchmaking based on fixed pricing, time, and location. This process is quick and convenient, allowing providers to effectively manage demand and capacity beforehand while also helping customers quickly find services that fit their budgets.
However, in its original form, RSVMe provided a wide range of beauty and wellness services, from manicures to eye exams. The initial design focused on a clean and gender-neutral look, applying traditional search and booking interfaces. The resulting information architecture and task flows turned out to be an awkward fit, threatening to compromise RSVMe’s core values—search less and save more. Conversion rates were low, users were frustrated, and growth stagnated for RSVMe.
Therefore, Cloud Interactive's challenge was to transform the simplistic and neutral interface design and traditional search and booking processes into an optimal format preferred by the target audience.
Solutions
After assessing RSVMe’s dilemma, Cloud Interactive’s UX/UI design team conducted thorough research and analysis using online surveys, focus groups, and user interviews. Users are segmented into key, regular, one-time, and non-users. We recommended RSVMe focus on women seeking cost-effective yet high-quality beauty services, but without much time to search for suitable ones.
Following this niche positioning, Cloud Interactive has restructured the customer journey, improved the user interface, and redesigned the brand's visual theme with purple and gold tones, ensuring a cohesive user experience that aligns with the overall brand values.
